Enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Cooroy visiting a mosaic friend! The four of us enjoyed delicious home cooked meals overlooking picture postcard views of beautiful Australian bush. Lorikeets, kookaburras and many other variety of birds sang to us continuously.
Very peaceful and a great time chatting about mosaics and visiting the local markets, township and a lovely run into Kin Kin.
I purchased a wonderful old paper slicing guillotine which I will use as a cheese/bread board on our deck but amazingly it still cuts paper to the finest of shreds! Love it! The antique shop is fantastic and I can't wait to visit again.
Thanks Michael and Janet for making us so welcome and for all the laughs, great food and wine!
Hope to see you again in Brisbane soon to return the hospitality.
Janet's mosaics are looking gorgeous too and soon we will see her at the Eumundi Markets.
Getting organised today for packing, sourcing all the mosaic materials required for the upcoming community mural in Theodore, Queensland. Lots of work but it's a great design by a local Theodore artist, Tracey and it's going to be a huge job but with community enthusiasm and pride it will be a beautiful addition to the community park.
It's getting cooler in Brisbane, but workshops are continually booked out and I am forever grateful to my students for keeping me inspired and at the cutting edge of mosaics.
Happy Mother's Day coming up for all the mums and special caring people this Sunday.
I hope you day finds someone hugging you and perhaps a nice breakfast in bed. The memories of my boys bringing in tea and vegemite toast are my happiest mother's day memories... toast spread so thick it was inedible but the smiles that delivered it were spectacular. xx
